What value do the students get out of it?
The impact stepUP has on students is fantastic which is why we want to bring it to Yorkshire. Feedback reports show that by the end of the event, young people believe that their past is not their future:
- 98% are more encouraged, excited and inspired about their lives
- 96.5% feel like there are more possibilities and choices open to them
- 96% feel armed with more information, tools and strategies
- 93.5% feel they have a say in how their life goes from here on out
- 95% of teenagers feel better about themselves, more confident and empowered to have a go in life
The stepUP event is the beginning of the journey with a raft of support to keep students motivated, inspired and positive about their futures.
Agenda
Each day starts at 9 am and will end at 4 pm with two 20 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. Each day consists of 3 high profile speakers from the fields of business, entertainment and sport with activities to develop young people’s enterprise skills such as teamwork exercises and ideas creation. Throughout the day young people will work in teams of 8 supported by a business mentor to inspire, guide and encourage participation.
